Managing Director – Medical Devices

About the role

The Managing Director will lead the Singapore manufacturing and R&D sites for a medical‑device organization, ensuring alignment with global business units while driving growth, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for manufacturing operations and R&D activities.
• Lead the Management Team to optimise daily business performance.
• Develop and execute growth strategies in line with Business Unit objectives.
• Ensure full compliance with ISO 13485, FDA QSR, EU MDR, GMP and other applicable regulations.
• Manage budgets, resources, investments and cost‑control initiatives.
• Oversee the full product lifecycle from design transfer to market supply and post‑market surveillance.
• Lead product transfer and new production‑line set‑up projects.
• Drive talent acquisition, retention and development strategies.
• Build strong relationships with regulatory bodies, industry partners and government agencies.
• Evaluate performance, productivity and organisational efficiency, reporting results to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Degree in Medical Engineering, Business or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within medical‑device, pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of medical‑device manufacturing processes and product/technology transfer.
• Proven ability to lead change, drive results and foster engagement.
• Entrepreneurial, decisive and resilient with the courage to challenge the status quo.
• Excellent leadership, communication and intercultural skills in a matrix organisation.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and operate within regulatory constraints.
