Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer in Singapore. The engineer develops and maintains methods, operating sequences and processes for fabricating parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies, and works with other engineering functions to coordinate product improvements and new products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain methods, operating sequences and processes for fabrication of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies
• Coordinate the release of product improvements and new products with other engineering functions and manage manufacturing engineering projects
• Use design for excellence (DFx) principles to estimate and reduce manufacturing and product costs and improve product quality
• Determine time standards and recommend tooling and process requirements
• Develop and use test procedures, evaluate test results and assess work methods, procedures and policies
• Identify root causes of issues during assembly or system testing, perform Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis and provide reports
• Mentor and train junior engineers
• Lead supplier issue management, including frequent travel to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree
• 4-7 years of experience
• Demonstrated conceptual knowledge and technical experience for everyday problem solving
• Preferred: solid interpersonal skills, including explaining difficult or sensitive information and building consensus
