Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

MKS is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to design, analyse and optimise production layouts so that space, resources and workflows are used efficiently. The role also covers broader industrial engineering functions such as process improvement, productivity enhancement and cost reduction.

Key responsibilities

• Production layout and optimisation: design and implement efficient production floor layouts, carry out time and motion studies, and optimise material flow, equipment placement and workspace use.
• Process improvement: analyse existing processes, develop SOPs and work instructions, and apply lean manufacturing and Six Sigma to reduce waste.
• Capacity and resource planning: run capacity analyses, recommend manpower and equipment allocation, and support factory expansion or reconfiguration projects.
• Data analysis and reporting: collect and analyse production data, prepare reports and dashboards for management, and monitor KPIs such as productivity, cycle time and space utilisation.
• Cross-functional collaboration: work with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Supply Chain teams, support new product introduction, and give technical guidance to supervisors and operators.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in an Industrial Engineering role or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, ergonomics and process optimisation.
• Analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making, and excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD tools for layout design (e.g. AutoCAD, MS Visio).
• Preferred: simulation software (e.g. FlexSim, Arena), Six Sigma or Kaizen knowledge, familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, and project management experience in manufacturing.
