Manufacturing Technician (Wire-EDM)

About the role

Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, is recruiting a Manufacturing Technician (Wire-EDM) for its manufacturing services at 51 Seletar Aerospace View in Singapore. The role is onsite and involves setting up, operating and maintaining Wire-EDM machines within a precision manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and maintain Wire-EDM machines and perform simple troubleshooting.
• Read and follow established procedures and work instructions.
• Perform risk assessments and take corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain daily 6S lean activities to keep the workplace safe.
• Work cross-functionally to support the various manufacturing processes.
• Take part in EH&S programmes and support continuous improvement and CORE (Customer Oriented Results & Excellence) activities, plus other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• NITEC in Precision, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2 years of relevant experience in EDM / CMM machine operation and maintenance.
• 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, precision engineering or machining.
• Comfortable with hands-on work using tools and equipment, and able to understand basic technical instructions and SOPs.
• Detail-oriented, meticulous and willing to work permanent night shifts and overtime when needed.

Required skills

• Preferred: EDM machining skills and knowledge.
• Preferred: experience operating CMM measurement machines.
• Preferred: relevant aerospace, manufacturing or precision engineering experience.
