Market Communication Specialist

About the role

The Market Communication Specialist supports and coordinates local marketing and communication initiatives for IKEA stores in Singapore. Reporting to the Local Marketing and Communication Manager, the role helps shape a positive perception of the IKEA brand among co‑workers and corporate stakeholders while contributing to sustainable growth and an excellent customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the annual local marketing plan and strategy aligned with commercial priorities.
• Coordinate, delegate and evaluate store‑level marketing activities to engage co‑workers, customers and the community.
• Support execution of store PR events, media launches, interviews and other media engagement activities.
• Collaborate with the Service Office and E‑commerce team to ensure up‑to‑date information on the Internet Retail Website and local store pages.
• Work with store leadership to develop internal communication strategies, activity calendars and content aligned with business agendas.
• Act as an ambassador for IKEA’s People and Planet sustainability initiatives, creating internal communication content that reflects the brand’s tone of voice.
• Facilitate engagement through huddles, kick‑off events, workshops, huddle notes and all‑staff memos.
• Provide support for crisis management and local marketing initiatives when required.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of marketing and communication principles.
• Ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams and manage multiple projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience in internal or store‑level communication is preferred.
