Mechanical Engineer – Defence Systems

About the role

As a Mechanical Engineer within ST Engineering's Unmanned & Integrated Systems business, you will design, develop, and maintain mechanical systems for defence applications. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure safety, functionality, and timely delivery of projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform fault diagnostic checks on mechanical and electromechanical equipment such as engines, HVAC systems, and gear assemblies.
• Carry out hands‑on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical components.
• Conduct engineering studies and analyses for military systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams and local industry partners to build local repair capability.
• Develop and maintain mechanical system specifications, design documents, and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project requirements.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent knowledge in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines (Mechatronics, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing).
• Strong understanding of core mechanical engineering principles.
• Proficient in report writing and presenting technical information to stakeholders.
• Familiarity with CAD tools such as SolidWorks is an advantage.
• Ability to work effectively with internal teams, customers, and on‑site camp environments.
