Mechanical Engineer

About the role

LionsBot is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and deliver high‑quality mechanical subsystems for next‑generation cleaning robots. You will be involved from concept through prototyping, testing and production, contributing to robotics that have a global impact.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and sub‑assemblies for autonomous robotic systems.
• Create detailed CAD models, 2D drawings, BOMs, GD&T and tolerance stack‑ups.
• Build and validate prototypes using 3D printing, machining and rapid‑fabrication techniques.
• Perform basic structural analysis, tolerance checks and mechanical testing.
• Support DFM/DFA reviews and ensure manufacturability for injection molding, sheet‑metal and CNC processes.
• Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing teams and cross‑functional engineers to resolve build issues and qualify parts for production.
• Participate in design reviews and iterate designs based on testing and field data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
• 0–2 years of product or hardware development experience, preferably in robotics, consumer electronics or automation.
• Hands‑on prototyping ability and a strong understanding of mechanical fundamentals.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (or equivalent 3D CAD software).
• DFM/DFA principles and basic knowledge of mass‑manufacturing processes.
• Experience with CNC machining, injection molding, sheet‑metal fabrication and 3D printing.
• Mechanical testing and basic structural analysis.
