Mechanical Engineer (M&E) – Building Systems

About the role

A Singapore-based client involved in global trade and supply chains, with advanced automation and smart technologies, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer (M&E) to lead operations for critical building M&E systems and manage engineering projects from design through commissioning. The role offers exposure to complex systems, stakeholder management and high-impact engineering projects supporting business-critical operations. The salary is SG$5,500 - SG$6,500 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of technical professionals responsible for maintenance and operational readiness of M&E systems
• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance programmes for critical facility infrastructure
• Manage mechanical and building services projects from conceptual design through commissioning and handover
• Coordinate consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders to achieve project objectives
• Review engineering designs, technical specifications and project documentation for compliance and quality
• Oversee site activities, monitor project schedules and manage safety, quality and cost performance
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve system reliability, efficiency and operational effectiveness

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Strong understanding of Singapore building regulations, fire safety requirements and engineering standards
• Experience managing mechanical engineering projects in commercial, industrial, infrastructure or large-scale facilities environments
• Hands-on knowledge of M&E systems, equipment maintenance and lifecycle management
• Experience supervising contractors, vendors and technical teams
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at once, with strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills
