Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Biomass Power Plant

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to ensure safe, reliable and cost‑effective operation of our 24/7 biomass power generation plant in Singapore. The role includes ownership of mechanical maintenance engineering, CMMS work management and equipment reliability across boiler, fuel‑handling and balance‑of‑plant systems.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute preventive, predictive/condition‑based, corrective, breakdown and shutdown maintenance for plant mechanical equipment.
• Maintain and continuously improve the CMMS/EAM system, including asset hierarchy, equipment master data, PM plans, job plans, work orders and spare‑parts linkage.
• Manage the complete work‑order cycle from defect notification to technical feedback and closure.
• Maintain biomass boiler, fuel receiving/storage, conveyors, pumps, fans, valves, piping, steam/condensate/feedwater, ash handling and compressed‑air systems.
• Develop maintenance strategies using OEM recommendations, equipment criticality, operating history and Reliability‑Centred Maintenance principles.
• Lead troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and failure analysis for recurring defects and forced outages.
• Implement condition‑monitoring activities such as vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasound, alignment, balancing and thickness measurement.
• Track equipment reliability and KPIs including PM compliance, schedule compliance, MTBF, MTTR, backlog and maintenance cost.
• Prepare scopes of work, coordinate OEMs and contractors, and support planned shutdowns, overhauls and reliability improvement projects.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with plant HSE requirements, PTW, LOTO, risk assessments, method statements and Singapore WSH regulations.

Required profile

• Hands‑on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with experience in biomass power plant equipment.
• Proven ability to manage CMMS/EAM systems and drive equipment reliability.
• Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive and reliability‑centred maintenance practices.
• Experience in leading root‑cause investigations and coordinating OEM support.
• Familiarity with Singapore plant HSE and WSH requirements.
