Job description
About the role
Micron is hiring a Member of Technical Staff (MTS) for its HBM Product Engineering Component Validation team. As a technical leader and authority, you will define validation coverage strategy, lead complex product debug and failure analysis, and drive a zero-escape validation mindset across all test modes and product milestones. You work within Micron's global validation organization and partner with teams across multiple sites.
Key responsibilities
- Translate DRAM/HBM design intent and architecture into comprehensive validation coverage and test strategy, owning methodologies and coverage plans across structural and functional test flows.
- Lead validation definition and closure for new and high-risk features with Design, DV and Systems Engineering, and advise senior management on technical risks.
- Review design specs, schematics and datasheets, debug circuits and run timing-accurate simulations to correlate silicon behavior to design intent.
- Lead root-cause and electrical failure analysis, producing debug summaries and working with Design, Reliability and Systems teams on corrective actions.
- Guide development of HBM test programs on ATE platforms, champion test-time optimization and promote automation with Python/C++, Verilog/UVM and version control.
- Mentor engineers, deliver OJT and technical training, and present technical content internally and externally.
- Use AI/GenAI tools to speed coverage analysis, test code, log analysis and documentation, and share best practices across the team.
Required profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or a related field, with at least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in the memory semiconductor industry.
- Strong working knowledge of DRAM and HBM architecture and design concepts.
- Proven post-silicon validation and debug experience, including root-cause and electrical failure analysis.
- Preferred: experience defining validation coverage for HBM or advanced DRAM, hands-on lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers), and mentoring engineers across sites and time zones.
Required skills
- Circuit schematic reading and debugging, and timing-accurate circuit simulation.
- Python/C++, Verilog and version control.
- ATE platforms and Algorithmic Pattern Generator (APG) concepts.
