Metals Execution Specialist

About the role

Marex is looking for a Metals Execution Specialist (VN2527) to manage execution risk for the Metals product set within group risk appetite and defined risk limits during the Asian time zone. This is a junior/mid-level position within the Sales/Brokerage function of the Metals department, working autonomously and as part of a team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage internal and external metal flows across all Marex order platforms, including base, ferrous, foreign exchange and precious metals.
• Execute new trades and, where necessary, book and manually recap them.
• Manage market risk for the Metals product set within group risk appetite and defined limits while generating positive returns.
• Reconcile client and internal flows so that all book positions are validated and accepted by the London team on handover of the franchise to the London time zone.
• Collaborate with sales and broking functions across time zones to originate hedging solutions for clients and help build the Metals client base in Asia.
• Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements (MAS) and the company's operational risk framework, and comply with the Code of Conduct.
• Report policy breaches to Compliance or your supervisor, escalate risk events immediately and contribute to risk management processes.

Required profile

• Good working knowledge of financial futures markets and experience in a trading environment.
• Experience in a regulated environment and knowledge of its risk and compliance requirements.
• Attention to detail, eagerness to learn and a collaborative, team-first approach.
• Fluency in an East Asian language such as Japanese is advantageous; a metal business background is also advantageous.
