Network Architect – AI, Routing and Automation

About the role

HPE Networking is hiring an Architect for its Global Network for AI Technical Solution Architecture team covering Asia-Pacific and Japan. The role is onsite, with the expectation of working mainly from an HPE office in Singapore. Architects partner with Product Management and engineering to drive technical sales for emerging technologies and new network evolutions, and are expected to speak at industry talks and take part in standardization activities.

Key responsibilities

• Work with Sales to articulate the value of Routing Infrastructure solutions and technically qualify large opportunities.
• Lead end-to-end network infrastructure architecture and lead technical solution design and customization in complex deals.
• Deliver demos and proof of concepts, and shape solutions across the portfolio, including CAPEX, SaaS, IaaS and third-party components.
• Build partnerships with integrators and partners, and ensure smooth knowledge transfer to the delivery team.
• Prepare RFP/tender responses, including compliance, bill of materials, pricing and solution documents.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in service provider WAN infrastructure, IP routing and Ethernet switching, with hands-on design of large-scale networks, data centre IP fabric and SDN environments.
• Advanced degree in technology or equivalent.
• Fluent English and proven ability to communicate with C-level executives and technical decision-makers.
• Pre-sales experience selling high-end networking equipment and solutions.
• Desired: technical sales leadership or mentoring, JNCIE or equivalent certification, and exposure to APIs, Postman, JSON and Python.

• JUNOS, MX, PTX, QFX, CX, SRX, EX, ACX, VMX, VSRX, Routing Director, Mist and Apstra platforms, plus SDN and NFV.
• IP/MPLS core/access/metro/edge, MPLS-TE, EVPN/VXLAN, DCI, MP-BGP, SR/SRv6, L2VPN, L3VPN, multicast, BGP, CoS, SP WAN, enterprise WAN and data centre.
• Network provisioning and automation (Apstra, Paragon Automation/Routing Director).
• AI/ML-Ops and agentic AI (MCP, A2A, RAG, LLM, SLM).
• Netconf, REST APIs, YANG and telemetry; virtualization on x86 (DPDK, SR-IOV, SmartNICs).
