Non Technical Program Manager – Applied NEXX Ramp

About the role

Applied Materials is hiring a Non Technical Program Manager in Kulim, Malaysia, to provide dedicated onsite support at a Malaysian contract manufacturer. The role manages day-to-day execution of the Applied NEXX ramp and the establishment of ongoing business stability, acting as the primary onsite execution leader alongside the contract manufacturer's operations and the Applied NEXX team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily onsite execution, including floor-level production readiness, material status, manufacturing constraints and open action items for active and planned tool builds.
• Lead daily production-floor scrums with the supplier and Applied stakeholders to resolve shortages in real time and protect committed ship dates.
• Maintain a single source of truth for tool-by-tool readiness, including CTB status, long-lead material placement, PO acknowledgements, supplier commitments, configuration alignment, ECO disposition and schedule risks.
• Drive proactive escalation of material, quality, engineering, planning, purchasing and manufacturing issues before they affect customer-committed dates or ramp milestones.
• Partner with Applied NEXX manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, planning and quality counterparts to move from the current production rate toward the required multi-tool-per-quarter output.
• Monitor the contract manufacturer's capacity, staffing, second-shift readiness, training plans, layout constraints and line maturity.
• Define clear project and program objectives, milestones, ownership and resource plans, and ensure programs are completed on schedule, within specification and cost, with risks closed.
• Maintain disciplined documentation, status reporting and cross-functional communication, and interact with management and leadership teams to secure the resources needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• 10 to 15 years of experience (more than 5 years) in a manufacturing factory environment.
• Recognised as an expert within the company, anticipating business and regulatory issues and recommending improvements.
• Ability to lead projects with notable risk and complexity, solve complex problems and communicate complex ideas to senior levels.
• May require working in a clean room with personal protective equipment such as coveralls, hoods, boots, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons and face shields.
