NPI Quality Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an NPI Quality Engineer to develop and apply quality standards for new product introductions. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure products and production equipment meet precision, accuracy, and reliability requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and apply quality standards in line with company and customer requirements.
• Design, implement, and conduct tests, inspections, and evaluations of products and production equipment.
• Prepare documentation for inspection and testing procedures and recommend corrective actions.
• Analyze operational data, develop recommendations, and participate in or lead audits.
• Evaluate work methods, track qualification status, review reliability test results, and release qualification packs.
• Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards, adapting inspection devices as needed.
• Reduce qualification cycle time and cost while maintaining quality performance.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in quality engineering with a solid understanding of related disciplines.
• Knowledge of best practices, market competition, and integration of quality processes across functions.
• Ability to act as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues and lead small, low‑risk projects.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, capable of addressing complex issues with new perspectives.
