Olfactive Scientist - Asia, Fabric & Home Care

About the role

P&G is looking for an Olfactive Scientist in its Fabric & Home Care (F&HC) team within the Fragrance & Flavor discipline, based in Singapore. The role leads the evaluation, design and execution of fragrances for Asia's F&HC brands, combining scientific and creative skills, knowledge of brand equity and consumer needs, and an understanding of product chassis and perfume delivery technologies. It is a fast-moving position requiring a bias for action and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop key fragrance-related consumer insights and turn them into directions that guide the creation of superior fragrances.
• Provide consumer-driven evaluation feedback to P&G and Perfume House perfumers to help shape their work.
• Lead fragrance projects, working with category PR customers, internal and external perfume resources.
• Develop new methodologies that improve the ability to create and identify superior fragrances that drive purchase intent and build brand equity.
• Leverage external perfume resources to complement internal capability and meet project objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in science or engineering; an ISIPCA degree is highly preferred.
• Experience in a fragrance design role, in fragrance or in category-related work involving fragrance design.
• Ability to pass an odor acuity test and an excellent sense of smell.
• Strong creativity, passion for fragrance, and regular use of scent in daily life.
• Able to manage multiple projects at once, with attention to detail and discipline in follow-through.
• Good communication skills, working daily with project teams, perfumers, perfume houses and product supply.
• Understanding of or experience in products research (focus groups, consumer interviews, IHVs, consumer research, panel building, basic data analysis).
• Basic chemistry knowledge of perfume raw materials and willingness to learn deeper about interactions between perfumes, chassis and delivery technologies.
• Collaboration with R&D, Regulatory, Purchases and Product Supply, and with industry perfumers, technology suppliers and academic partners.
