Operational Buyer – Indirect (Level III)

About the role

Lonza is seeking an Operational Buyer – Indirect (Level III) to support its supply chain function for multiple sites in Singapore. You will provide end‑to‑end buying services for indirect goods, services and CAPEX, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead competitive bid processes and execute RFx market interventions according to policy.
• Negotiate low‑value contracts with suppliers and assign purchase orders to preferred vendors.
• Place purchase orders, obtain confirmations and expedite deliveries to meet site requirements.
• Maintain accurate data in SAP, including delivery dates and order confirmations.
• Manage non‑conformance, rejections and returns in collaboration with Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
• Monitor supplier performance and raise issues with strategic buyers or category managers.
• Promote the use of e‑catalogues (Ariba) and other automated buying channels.
• Uphold data‑integrity principles and continuously improve related processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Procurement or Supply Chain.
• 5‑10 years of experience in operational procurement of indirect goods, services and CAPEX.
• Proven ability to influence suppliers and achieve optimal outcomes.
• Independent mindset with the capability to train junior colleagues.
