Operational Specialist – Supply Chain Operations

About the role

The Operational Specialist will coordinate supply‑chain activities to ensure smooth, efficient operations. This role supports timely material availability, accurate inventory management and close collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Create, process and manage purchase orders for raw materials, components and services.
• Identify, evaluate and maintain supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost‑effectiveness and timely delivery.
• Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand and coordinate with production planning to prevent stockouts or overstock.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and negotiate vendor terms when required.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, schedule carriers, prepare shipping documentation and track deliveries.
• Work with freight forwarders and third‑party logistics providers to optimise transportation costs and delivery times.
• Maintain compliance with import/export regulations and customs requirements.
• Record goods received, conduct monthly physical counts, reconcile variances and update inventory data in the system.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, laboratory and finance teams to align procurement, logistics and inventory activities with business needs.

Required profile

• Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in purchasing, procurement, logistics or supply‑chain operations.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, shipping regulations, inventory management and warehouse operations.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office Suite.
