Operational Technology Cyber Engineer

About the role

The Operational Technology Cyber Engineer will protect critical infrastructure in power generation and water treatment facilities. You will design, implement and maintain OT security solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement cybersecurity measures across OT environments, including network segmentation and hardening of PLCs, HMIs, RTUs, DCS and SCADA systems.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with NIST CSF, ISO 27001, IEC 62443, CCoP (CSA) and WSCP (PUB) regulations.
• Monitor OT systems using tools such as Claroty, Nozomi and SIEM platforms, and lead incident response for OT cyber incidents.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network topologies, asset inventories and security configurations for wind, solar and power generation sites.
• Enforce physical and network security controls, including firewalls, data diodes, locked racks and camera surveillance.
• Collaborate with O&M, IT, vendors and provide cybersecurity training and advisory for new OT projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity, Control Systems or related field.
• 3–5 years of OT cybersecurity experience in energy, utilities or critical infrastructure.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one major industrial control system (e.g., Siemens PCS 7, ABB 800xA, Honeywell PKS, GE Mark VIe).

Required skills

• Industrial protocols: Modbus, OPC DA/UA, IEC 61850, DNP3.
• OT security tools: Claroty, Nozomi, Dragos, SIEM integration.
• Network security: firewalls, network segmentation, data diodes.
• Vulnerability management: patch management, compensating controls, coordination of penetration testing.
