Operations and Customer Quality Manager

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring an Operations and Customer Quality Manager in Singapore. This is a hardware manufacturing customer experience quality engineering position, fully on site, with travel of about 20% of the time.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and apply quality standards according to company and customer requirements, and carry out tests to verify and improve product quality
• Analyze operational and test data extensively with Excel (Pivot and VLOOKUP), evaluate work methods and recommend corrective action
• Track qualification status, review reliability test results, determine disposition of non-compliant products and release qualification packs
• Reduce qualification cycle time and cost while meeting quality performance requirements
• Drive continuous improvement, eliminate customer complaints and escalations, and lead or take part in audits
• Lead multi-functional teams including design and development, quality and reliability engineers, supply chain and suppliers
• Monitor field customer performance, run root cause analysis, containment, corrective action and process improvement, and conduct quality post-mortems
• Resolve customer escalations using the 8D discipline and feed quality, reliability and voice-of-customer requirements into new product designs
• Manage and coordinate customer PPM against supplier PPM, supplier problem solving, cost recovery and warranty indicators

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, computer science or a related engineering technology
• 5-8 years of quality function experience in general industrial equipment, automotive, heavy engineering, medical or similar; semiconductor is preferred
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments and a proven track record managing customer issues and suppliers
• Experience in semiconductor equipment manufacturing or an equivalent industry is an added plus

• Quality tools: 8D, SCAR, root cause analysis, FMEA, DMAIC, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, ISO9001, Lean Manufacturing
• Statistical analysis: Pareto, histograms, Ishikawa diagrams, control charts, checklists
• Microsoft Office, with Excel proficiency required; Power BI
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
