Operations Management Manager

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring an Operations Management Manager in Singapore. The role leads a team of production employees, prioritises production schedules and drives Lean, safety and quality improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, lead, motivate, direct, develop and train a team of production employees, assigning work and setting priorities
• Provide technical expertise and managerial leadership, and communicate daily crossovers and build/test issues across Manufacturing
• Prioritise production schedules based on manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity and material requirements
• Lead operational meetings, set up consistent processes and align tactical and strategic plans
• Develop and track performance metrics such as cycle time, schedule milestone meetings and respond quickly to operations issues affecting customer satisfaction
• Act as an interface for customer and vendor requirements, analyse cost of quality opportunities and initiate corrective action
• Prevent accidents and injuries, ensure all employees (including temporary staff) receive environmental, health and safety training, and monitor compliance with safety policies
• Manage personnel development, performance management, hiring, rewards and discipline
• Analyse production capacity, implement and monitor manufacturing processes, and identify process and quality improvements

Required profile

• Ability to analyse situations and data, recommend policy changes and manage work against objectives
• Leadership: giving direction according to company policies and administering policies affecting subordinates
• Problem solving: exercising judgment within defined procedures and policies
• Interpersonal skills: gaining cooperation of others and presenting technical information on projects and schedules
• Understanding of Applied Materials' global Standards of Business Conduct and ethical behaviour
