Operations Management Manager (Shift 2)

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring an Operations Management Manager in Singapore. The role covers production and operation functions such as assembly, inspection, test and final test of capital equipment and systems, electronic, mechanical and electromechanical components, subassemblies and subsystems. It is a full-time, regular position covering CMP Shift 2 (4pm to 1:30am); relocation is not eligible.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise employees in production and operation functions related to the manufacture of capital equipment and systems.
• Prioritize production schedules based on manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity and material requirements.
• Take part in operational meetings, track performance metrics, schedule milestone meetings and improve cycle time and other metrics.
• Respond quickly to operations issues affecting customer satisfaction, ensure conformance to customer and vendor requirements, and initiate corrective action on quality costs.
• Prevent accidents and injuries, ensure all employees (including temporary staff) receive environmental, health and safety training, and enforce safety policies.
• Develop personnel through training and career development, manage performance management, goals, hiring, rewards and discipline.
• Plan for maximum production capacity, monitor manufacturing processes and data collection, and drive Lean, safety and quality improvements.

Required profile

• Formal supervisory responsibilities, setting priorities and coaching employees to meet daily deadlines.
• Ability to solve day-to-day technical and operational problems and to handle sensitive issues tactfully.
• Understanding of Applied Materials' global Standards of Business Conduct and compliance with them.
• Physical demands: prolonged standing, walking, working in tight spaces, lifting, and possibly working in a clean room with personal protective equipment.
