Ophthalmology Consultant / Senior Consultant / Clinical Associate

About the role

Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) is seeking qualified ophthalmology professionals to join its clinical team. Positions include Consultant, Senior Consultant, Clinical Associate and Resident Physician across various subspecialties such as General Ophthalmology, Ocular Inflammation & Immunology, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Adult Strabismus and Medical Retina. Appointees will work at SNEC’s main campus and satellite sites including Changi General Hospital and Sengkang General Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive ophthalmic assessment, diagnosis and management for out‑patient and in‑patient cases.
• Perform surgical and laser procedures as required by the subspecialty.
• Supervise and mentor junior doctors, medical students and allied health staff.
• Participate in multidisciplinary clinics and coordinate patient care across satellite locations.
• Contribute to clinical research, audit activities and publication of findings.
• Explain procedures, obtain informed consent and ensure patient safety.

Required profile

• Basic medical degree and recognised postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology (e.g., MMed, FRCOphth) registrable with the Singapore Medical Council.
• Completion of an accredited specialist training programme and eligibility for Specialist Accreditation Board registration.
• For Clinical Associate roles, relevant ophthalmology experience is required.
• Strong commitment to patient‑centred care and ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
