Part-Time Lecturer - Modelling and Animation for Games (AP6413)

About the role

Nanyang Technological University's School of Art, Design and Media is looking for a part-time lecturer for AP6413 Modelling and Animation for Games, a 13-week course on the design, modelling and preparation of original visual assets for game engines. The course covers 2D sprites, 3D models, textures and basic animation, including motion capture and environment design, and ends with a portfolio of modular art assets for a game proposal. The successful candidate is expected to start in August 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Teach the course and guide students through the technical aspects of motion capture integration, environment design and modular asset creation.
• Help students master technical efficiency and the practicalities of assembling and optimising visual assets in a modern game engine.
• Support students in building engine-ready assets for any game project.

Required profile

• Expertise in the full game art pipeline, from asset design and 3D modelling to texturing, rigging and animation.
• A relevant Master's and/or PhD in Animation, Game Art, Digital Media or a related field, with a track record of creative practice in professional game asset production.
• Past undergraduate-level teaching experience is preferred; candidates with a Bachelor's degree and sufficient relevant industry experience (e.g. 3D modeller, technical animator, environment artist) may be considered in exceptional cases.
