Planning and Control Planner

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Planning and Control Planner in Singapore. The role covers planning activities such as production control, inventory control, process control and shop floor control, including Material Requirements Planning (MRP) integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the SAP order release schedule so materials arrive on time for manufacturing and engineering, reschedule and complete no-charge discrete jobs, and run pre-shortage analysis and work order variance analysis
• Review MRP execution, reconcile supply and demand, validate master scheduling requirements and work with buyers and planners on engineering change orders (ECOs)
• Prepare status reports of ECOs and ECRs, audit WIP physical inventory, attend production meetings and adjust make-level lead times to match the floor
• Pull shop floor control reports, analyse lead time performance and capacity, and feed back lead time and routing issues to the supply chain planner
• Analyse usage data and stock levels to order parts, maintain planned inventory levels, expedite shortages and set up or modify inventory systems
• Drive root cause and corrective action from PCI reporting and metrics, and run cycle counts
• May act as Training Focal, certifying and re-certifying the planning community and training staff in Learning Labs

Required profile

• Conceptual and practical expertise in the own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines
• Knowledge of best practices and how the area fits with others, awareness of the competition
• Ability to solve complex problems, act as a resource for colleagues and lead small projects
• Ability to explain difficult or sensitive information and build consensus
