Planning Officer - Production Planning

About the role

RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, is hiring an on-site Planning Officer at its Bedok, Singapore site. The role plans, schedules and expedites shop-floor activities so that production meets customer delivery schedules, keeps inventory at an optimum level and complies with system integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze material flow and use production scheduling techniques to run cell planning and production schedules for on-time delivery.
• Review daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly performance results to spot trends and drive corrective and continuous improvement actions.
• Monitor and manage input/output and work-in-progress to keep inventory optimal with maximum performance and minimum delay.
• Support the material planning group in meeting delivery and inventory turn performance goals.
• Help with material issues related to engineering changes and new product start-up.
• Analyze demand fluctuations, load changes and capacity requirements.
• Work closely with other departments to resolve planning, scheduling and shipment issues.
• Follow standard operating procedures, methods and SAP system updates, and coach coworkers.
• Take part in continuous improvement initiatives and liaise with internal and external customers when needed.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Production or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Typically a university degree or equivalent experience, with at least 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines, with strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP is preferred.
• Working knowledge of spreadsheets, pivot tables and databases.
