Platform Engineer - Testing Platform

About the role

We are looking for a passionate and driven Platform Engineer to help us design and build our next‑generation on‑premise testing platform, enabling the organisation to stay ahead of emerging cyber threats. In this role you will work with a team to develop scalable services that give developers and testers on‑demand access to a wide range of physical and virtual devices for testing.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop core components of an on‑premise testing platform, including device management, automated test execution, and results processing.
• Implement scalable services that support diverse device types, architectures, and environments, ensuring reliability, availability, and security.
• Deploy, manage, and optimise virtualisation infrastructure (e.g., VMware, Proxmox, Nutanix) to support elastic testing workloads.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Network Engineering, Security, Software Engineering) to integrate platform services into the wider ecosystem.
• Contribute to technical documentation such as design specifications, architecture diagrams, and operational guides.
• Support system monitoring, troubleshooting, and platform improvements to enhance performance and user experience.

Required profile

• Background in Engineering or Computer Science.
• Foundational knowledge of virtualisation technologies such as VMware, Proxmox, and Nutanix (hands‑on experience a plus).
• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language, preferably Python.
• Understanding of basic software testing concepts (functional, regression, performance).
• Strong problem‑solving skills and clear communication abilities.
