Platform & SRE Engineer (Database and Search Platform)

About the role

CSIT is looking for a Platform & SRE Engineer to design, develop and maintain large‑scale database and search infrastructure that supports national security operations. The role focuses on ensuring scalability, performance and reliability of PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operate highly available, scalable databases and search platforms using PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch.
• Design and implement data integration and migration pipelines from APIs, files and other databases.
• Apply SRE practices to improve platform availability and performance.
• Lead incident management, including troubleshooting, resolution and post‑mortem analysis.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship as a subject‑matter expert.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align platform capabilities with organisational goals.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years experience with relational (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB, Elasticsearch) databases.
• Proficiency in Bash, Go, Java and Python.
• Experience with cloud‑native container orchestration, CI/CD, infrastructure automation and observability.
• Strong background in data modelling, schema design, performance tuning and data migration.
