Principal Consultant - Data

About the role

Capco’s Data Team partners with leading banking, insurance and capital markets organisations to transform their data landscape. As a Principal Consultant you will shape data strategy, governance and architecture, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while driving innovative analytics and AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and enhance enterprise Data Governance and Management frameworks for financial services clients.
• Develop and maintain data governance artifacts such as data dictionaries, business glossaries, metadata catalogs, data lineage and classification standards.
• Support initiatives in Data Architecture, Data Quality, Master Data Management and Metadata Management.
• Drive Data Sovereignty, Residency and Regulatory Compliance programs aligned with banking regulations.
• Partner with business, technology, risk, compliance and executive stakeholders to embed governance across the data lifecycle.
• Deliver data transformation projects using Agile methodologies and support executive‑level reporting forums.
• Leverage governance tools like Collibra, Informatica, Microsoft Purview, Ab Initio or similar platforms to improve data transparency and quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, Mathematics or related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience delivering Data Governance, Data Management, Data Architecture or Enterprise Data Transformation programmes.
• Strong financial services background across Banking, Wealth Management, Insurance or Capital Markets.
• Knowledge of industry frameworks such as DCAM, Data Governance Operating Models and Data Lifecycle Management.
• Hands‑on experience with Collibra (preferred) or other enterprise data governance and metadata tools.
• Proven ability to work with senior executives, regulators and cross‑functional teams.
• Fluent English; Arabic language skills are a plus for regional engagements.
