Principal Engineer Integration & Yield

About the role

GlobalFoundries is looking for a Principal Process Integration Engineer to lead the development, optimization and integration of semiconductor processes, driving yield improvement, product performance and manufacturability. The role acts as a technical expert who guides complex problem-solving, influences cross-functional teams and delivers strategic process improvements across product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the identification, resolution and continuous improvement of process integration and yield-related issues
• Manage end-to-end projects and perform advanced data analysis to support integration and yield objectives
• Develop custom and derivative process solutions for evolving customer and product needs
• Provide technical leadership on complex process integration challenges using deep device and process knowledge
• Support new product development with module characterization and design rule development
• Reduce defectivity with cross-functional teams and address yield and technical concerns
• Design, develop and enhance test structures for rapid and robust process characterization
• Drive Continuous Improvement Plans (CIP) to meet performance, yield and quality goals
• Maintain defect source libraries, lead tool defect fingerprinting and defect trend analysis
• Run product and process partitioning studies for yield and defect characterization
• Document processes, including failure mode analysis, risk mitigation and detection strategies
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to strategic initiatives and technology roadmaps
• Ensure compliance with EHS&S requirements

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or a related discipline
• Extensive experience in semiconductor process integration, yield engineering or related areas
• Proven ability to lead projects and influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor teams
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
