Job description
About the role
Micron's Advanced Packaging Technology Development (APTD) delivers package development for high-performance memory products and transfers them to manufacturing. As a Process Technical Specialist in APTD, you will work on packaging process technology for existing and new memory devices, supporting new technology implementation and process improvement. The role involves process engineering support mainly through data collection, extraction and analysis, and frequent use of software systems such as Yield 3, JMP, Micron Central, MAM, SPACE and GCP.
Key responsibilities
- Engage with supervisors and manufacturing groups to support APTD's new technology introduction and ramp.
- Provide process engineering support through data collection, extraction and analysis, including experiment (SWR) and process conversion reports, and make recommendations.
- Execute SWR logistics, monitor the product line and lot disposition, and help manage projects.
- Learn to read SPC charts, graphs, spec limits and process variations, and suggest improvements.
- Assist supervisors in managing team-level KPIs such as GCP, SWR and WIP status, and in maintaining operational procedures and process systems.
- Assist process owners with daily tasks such as Cpk improvement, material disposition and engineering job submissions.
- Perform data mining and analysis, support cross-section measurements for failure analysis, and assist in inline inspection and non-routine metro/RDA inspections.
- Support process characterization, new DID and process system setups (including SPACE/FDC/LMS/GerM), and TOPO management.
- Set up process GDM, GCP, SWR and new SPC charts, and monitor inline/probe/final parametric indices, triggering first-level investigations on deviations.
- Contribute to improving process procedures, tools, capability, yield and quality.
- Able to work in shifts if needed, multitask with proper documentation and work independently with minimal supervision.
Required profile
- Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Materials Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
- Prior semiconductor experience preferred.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to work independently and in a multifaceted environment.
Required skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Basic computer scripting (Python, SQL, Visual Basic) advantageous; Tableau experience preferred.
- Competence in Micron systems such as Micron Central, MAM and SPACE.
