Process Technician (Shift) - Semiconductor R&D

About the role

Applied Materials is hiring a Process Technician for its R&D team in Singapore. The technician supports the development and optimisation of semiconductor manufacturing processes by preparing wafers for experimentation, running reactors for thin-film processes and using scanning electron microscopes for analysis and imaging. The work takes place in a cleanroom environment alongside engineers and scientists.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare wafers for experimentation and operate reactors to perform thin-film processes
• Record process conditions and experimental observations, and evaluate wafers and thin films
• Prepare cross-section samples for analysis and identify patterns of interest in imaging
• Operate laboratory process equipment and instrumentation, and perform routine maintenance
• Assist engineers in developing process technology for advanced semiconductor processes
• Perform basic recipe and CH troubleshooting during process runs and implement changes as directed by the engineer
• Own the execution of module processes, collect measurement and inspection data and share it with the engineer
• Coordinate with internal and external CH and metrology tool owners to schedule tool time, run process sequences and collect data for feedback to the engineer
• Occasional overtime to support process engineering activities

Required profile

• ITE or diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Materials Science) or a related field
• More than 3 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or R&D preferred
• Familiarity with cleanroom operations and semiconductor processing equipment is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to a Monday to Friday rotating shift (9am-6pm or 4pm-11pm)
