Product Finance Director

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is looking for a Product Finance Director in Singapore. You will own the accounting, reconciliation and financial governance layer of its core product suite (payments, issuing, acquiring, FX, intercompany flows and wallet infrastructure). This is a high-impact, cross-functional role at the intersection of finance, product and technology, acting as the primary finance partner for Product, Engineering and Treasury while leading the transformation of reconciliation operations through AI and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead AI-based reconciliation tools and automated workflows across cash, intercompany, AR and treasury operations.
• Serve as the primary accounting authority for product fund flows, payment clearing, issuing revenue, acquiring settlements, rebate netting, FX revaluation and intercompany rebalancing, with consistent treatment across entities.
• Own the sign-off process for new fee types and revenue models, and maintain a structured governance framework aligned with US GAAP group standards and local requirements.
• Lead the reconciliation and financial operations team, drive T+3 close standards and reduce open breaks.
• Provide AR balance and credit risk monitoring metrics to the financial risk committee.
• Build a scalable cost engine for cost accruals and reconciliation, defining cost drivers, allocation logic and data sources.
• Own the reconciliation of Financial Reporting and Management Reporting topline figures and ensure consistency between them.
• Engage early with Product, Engineering and Legal on new products and fund flow redesigns, and support the accounting design of the new FX Hub and back-to-back hedge arrangements.
• Maintain ledger data quality (Oracle movement types, BAM records, Leapfin domain tagging) and resolve structural data issues with Engineering and Ops.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with exposure to payments, fintech or financial infrastructure; prior product finance, technical accounting or financial operations leadership strongly preferred.
• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CA/CPA or equivalent preferred.
• Experienced people manager able to build a team of managers and individual contributors.
• Comfortable working as a peer with Product, Engineering and Treasury leaders and influencing decisions without authority.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of payment product accounting, including clearing, settlement, FX revaluation, intercompany and revenue recognition.
• Ability to design accounting frameworks for novel product structures with limited precedent.
• Interest in AI and automation tools; comfort with data concepts, SQL or scripting is a plus.
