Production Operator – Shift-Based Manufacturing

About the role

Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), a global medical technology company, is hiring Production Operators for its manufacturing team at the Tuas plant in Singapore. This is a shift-based manufacturing role for motivated, hands-on operators who enjoy fast-paced production environments, operating machinery and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Operate manufacturing equipment and production processes according to procedures and work instructions.
• Monitor machine performance and process parameters to meet quality standards and production targets.
• Perform routine troubleshooting and escalate equipment issues when needed.
• Carry out product inspections and quality checks in line with quality plans and specifications.
• Manage non-conforming products and support containment and corrective actions.
• Perform preventive maintenance such as cleaning, servicing and replacement of machine components.
• Handle product changeovers, tooling adjustments and basic machine setup.
• Update manufacturing systems with production output, downtime, scrap and component lot information.
• Support production improvement initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
• Work with team leaders and manufacturing assistants, maintain good housekeeping and support material handling such as packing, unpacking, loading and unloading.

Required profile

• Experience in manufacturing, production, engineering or assembly operations preferred.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends or public holidays when required.
• Team-oriented, positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Comfortable performing hands-on tasks in a manufacturing environment.

Required skills

• Ability to operate machinery and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and record-keeping skills.
• Follows WSH, EHS and ISO 14001 requirements, adheres to GMP and reports incidents and safety concerns promptly.
