Production Technician - Gas Cylinder Filling

About the role

Air Liquide Singapore Private Limited (ALSg), the largest industrial gas company in south-east Asia, is hiring a Production Technician. The technician safely and efficiently operates equipment to fill, inspect and prepare compressed and liquid gas cylinders, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality control standards and production schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Cylinder sorting and management: sort cylinders by status, move them between workstations, assign them to work-in-progress for filling or maintenance, enter data in the Gideon WIP system and production logbooks, close the month-end and carry out scheduled stock counts.
• Cylinder filling: fill inert, flammable and toxic product mixtures for cylinders and cylinder bundles, following onsite safety requirements, SOPs and process controls.
• Incoming and outgoing quality checks: perform IQC on cylinders entering production and OQC on filled products to meet customer requirements.
• Cylinder maintenance: monitor overdue test dates, arrange maintenance, and handle gas disposal, de-valving, painting, stenciling, internal preparation, palletisation and de-palletisation.
• Facility operation and housekeeping: follow the 6S housekeeping procedure, and perform routine plant start-up and shut-down.
• Equipment maintenance: carry out basic maintenance, corrective and preventive maintenance (valve replacement, manifold cleaning and purging, process line qualification, vacuum pump replacement) as assigned by the production supervisor.

Required profile

• ITE/NITEC/Diploma in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of hands-on experience in a chemical processing industry or process plant; fresh graduates with a keen learning attitude are encouraged to apply.
• Solid understanding of personal and process safety standards in an industrial plant context.
• Ability to operate a forklift is an added advantage.
