Production Technician

About the role

Air Liquide Singapore Private Limited (ALSg), the largest industrial gas company in south-east Asia, is hiring a Production Technician to carry out industrial operations in its Primary Production plant. The role covers day-to-day plant operations, equipment preparation and maintenance, and supports the operations engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following procedures, complying with legal regulations and the Air Liquide Industrial Management System.
• Carry out daily operational activities according to process specifications, quality protocols and operating procedures.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance and perform start-up, shutdown and plant turnaround activities.
• Act as an Emergency Response Team (ERT) member and ensure the Gas Yard is staffed with enough operations technicians on each shift.
• Lead the assigned area during plant shutdown maintenance to ensure a smooth, accident-free turnaround.
• Monitor units, analyse early signs of performance deterioration against the operation engineer's KPIs and give feedback.
• Support the operations engineer with process improvements, troubleshooting, projects and data collection.
• Propose solutions to the operations engineer and facility manager on operational issues, complaints and improvement opportunities.
• Inspect sites and contractor work before activity starts to confirm it is safe.

Required profile

• Diploma in chemical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in chemical industry shift work.
• Experience in cryogenic air separation unit (ASU) and steam methane reformer (SMR) operation is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of personnel and process safety in industrial plants.
• Organised, detail-oriented, proactive about optimising work methods, and a good team player.
• Experience implementing 6S projects is an advantage.
