Production Technician – Mold Maintenance

About the role

BD is seeking a hands‑on Production Technician (Technician 2) to maintain, repair and optimise moulds used in our high‑volume manufacturing operations. The role is critical to ensuring mould reliability, minimising downtime and supporting the delivery of high‑quality medical technology products.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mould parting line cleaning and keep moulds in optimal condition.
• Execute preventive maintenance (PM) and changeover (C/O) activities following established procedures.
• Support mould repair and cavity unit (CU) recovery to reduce production interruptions.
• Follow technical directions from Technical Specialists and Senior Technical Specialists.
• Maintain mould cavity utilisation targets and tooling readiness.
• Conduct defect analysis and identify tooling‑related issues.
• Record accurate mould history and maintenance activities in SAP.
• Assist the Team Leader with daily operational tasks and uphold 5S standards.

Required profile

• GCE O‑Level, NITEC, Higher NITEC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Tool & Die, Manufacturing or a related field.
• Experience in mould maintenance, repair, tooling or injection‑moulding operations (preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and tooling specifications.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to support shift work and overtime when required.
