Production Technician (Technician 1)

About the role

Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), a global medical technology company, is hiring a Production Technician (Technician 1) at its Tuas plant in Singapore. The role covers machine monitoring, quality checks, minor troubleshooting, housekeeping and preventive maintenance, and includes shift coordination and support to the Technical Specialist.

Key responsibilities

• Check and record machine or process parameters and take corrective action to keep them under control.
• Perform sampling inspections of parts according to the quality plan and dispose of non-conforming products as required.
• Perform minor troubleshooting to keep machines running continuously.
• Clean and tidy the machine and work area.
• Update the machine PMS satellite with component lot numbers, shift output, waste and downtime.
• Carry out product and machine changeovers, including clearing previous lots, changing materials and tools, and entering data into the PMS satellite.
• Take part in daily and monthly team meetings and in team projects such as data collection on stoppages and quality.
• Assist the Technical Specialist with major preventive maintenance and enhancement projects.
• Contribute to department goals such as Kaizen submissions, team building and safety initiatives.
• Help coordinate shifts, allocate resources, cover manpower needs and train new technicians.
• Take part in continuous improvement initiatives and uphold safety and environmental standards (ISO 14001).
• Perform any other tasks assigned.
