Project Officer – Cell Biology Research

About the role

The School of Biological Sciences at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Project Officer to support a cutting‑edge research project on secretory transport within the Golgi apparatus. You will join Associate Professor Lei Lu’s laboratory, contributing to innovative imaging studies of protein dynamics in eukaryotic cells.

Key responsibilities

• Culture and maintain mammalian cell lines
• Perform confocal and wide‑field microscopic imaging of cells
• Analyse image data using Fiji/ImageJ and statistical software
• Construct and validate DNA expression plasmids
• Organise laboratory inventory and documentation

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or a related field
• Strong written and oral communication abilities
• Ability to work independently with meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills

Required skills

• Proficiency in cell culture techniques
• Experience with molecular cloning and plasmid construction
• Competence in confocal and wide‑field microscopy
• Familiarity with Fiji or ImageJ for image analysis
• Use of statistical software for data interpretation
