Project Officer / Research Fellow – MOF Energy Storage

About the role

The School of Materials Science and Engineering at NTU seeks a motivated Project Officer/Research Fellow to lead the design and synthesis of metal‑organic frameworks (MOFs) with tailored redox activity and intrinsic conductivity for advanced energy storage applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise synthetic routes for redox‑active and conductive MOFs.
• Characterise electrochemical performance of MOFs in various battery chemistries.
• Investigate electrocatalytic behaviour and establish structure‑property relationships.
• Fabricate and test electrodes incorporating the new MOFs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate MOFs into proof‑of‑concept energy devices.
• Prepare project deliverables, presentations, and reports.

Required profile

• PhD or Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong background in MOF synthesis or porous material design.
• Proven research experience in electrochemistry, energy‑storage materials or electrocatalysis.
• Track record of peer‑reviewed publications.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
