About the role

Sigma Food Pte. Ltd., a leading food manufacturing company on Jurong Island, is looking for a Junior Purchaser to support its supply chain by sourcing raw materials, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. The role works closely with sales, production, and logistics teams to align purchasing decisions with demand forecasts.

Key responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with local and overseas suppliers to secure optimal prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Collaborate with Sales and Production teams to review demand forecasts and plan ingredient purchases accordingly.
• Monitor stock turnover with warehouse and logistics teams to avoid over‑stocking, shortages, or expired perishable goods.
• Ensure all raw materials meet food safety standards and regulations such as HACCP and ISO guidelines.
• Process purchase orders, verify delivery orders, and perform three‑way invoice matching.
• Prepare spending summaries, track outstanding orders, and report supplier performance to management.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in food manufacturing, FMCG or perishable goods.
• Strong negotiation, communication and problem‑solving abilities to handle vendor issues and cross‑functional teamwork.

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
• Experience using SAP or other ERP systems.
• Ability to work with ERP software for order processing and inventory management.
