QA Lead

About the role

The Head of Quality Assurance & Management leads the organisation's quality strategy, governance and assurance across software engineering and product delivery. The role owns the Quality Management System (QMS) and sets the standards, processes and controls needed to deliver reliable products that meet quality and compliance requirements, including leading QA process assurance and overseeing Quality Control through the Senior Manager of Application Testing.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the QMS, quality policies, standards and governance framework.
• Set quality checkpoints, acceptance criteria and accountabilities across requirements, design, development, testing and release.
• Review adherence to quality standards across engineering teams and close process or delivery gaps.
• Drive defect prevention, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Oversee application testing strategy, test coverage, automation, non-functional testing and defect management.
• Establish release and change governance, including quality readiness assessments, exception handling and emergency changes.
• Integrate quality controls into Agile and DevOps, including CI/CD pipelines, and set controls for AI-assisted development and testing.
• Define and monitor quality indicators such as defect trends, test effectiveness and release readiness, and report risks to senior leadership.
• Lead and develop the quality organisation, manage quality budgets, tools and vendors, and partner with Engineering, Product, Design, Security and Support.

Required profile

• At least 12 years of experience in software quality assurance, software engineering and quality management, including at least 6 years in senior technology or QA leadership.
• Experience managing teams of around 50 people through managers and team leads.
• Proven ownership or implementation of an organisation-wide QMS or quality governance framework.
• Experience setting QA processes, quality gates, release controls and change governance.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 10am to 7pm. Salary is up to $12,000 plus AWS and VB.
