Quality Control Analyst I

About the role

Givaudan is seeking a Quality Control Analyst I to join its Singapore laboratory. Under regular supervision, you will evaluate raw materials, intermediates and finished goods to ensure compliance with safety regulations and product specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform sensory assessments, including organoleptic odour and visual colour/appearance checks.
• Conduct wet‑chemical tests such as pH, acid value, titration and saponification.
• Measure physical properties like specific gravity, refractive index, melting point and flashpoint.
• Run instrumental analyses using chromatography, GC‑MS, infrared spectroscopy and ICP.
• Record results in laboratory books and SAP, document non‑conformances, and support material investigations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology or a related technical field.
• 1–2 years of experience in a laboratory or quality‑control environment.
• Willingness to work the 11 am‑8 pm shift and occasional overtime.

Required skills

• Sensory evaluation (organoleptic assessment).
• Wet‑chemical techniques: titration, saponification, pH measurement.
• Physical property testing: specific gravity, refractive index, melting point, flashpoint.
• Instrumental analysis: chromatography, GC‑MS, infrared spectroscopy, ICP.
• Laboratory equipment operation: weighing balance, densitometer, refractometer, moisture balances, Karl Fischer titrator, sieve testing equipment, gas chromatograph.
• Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office.
