Quality Control Technician II

About the role
The Quality Control Technician II ensures that incoming raw materials, electronic and mechanical components, as well as manufactured or OEM products meet design specifications before they enter production. This role supports the QC team by performing inspections, documenting results, and assisting in root‑cause investigations.
Key responsibilities
- Execute routine QC inspections and tests according to established procedures.
- Review non‑conforming material reports, investigate test failures, and recommend disposition.
- Coordinate with internal functions and Bio‑Rad service depots on returned instrument verification.
- Assist the supervisor in developing or revising QC inspection plans for new or existing products.
- Provide technical guidance to junior QC technicians.
- Prepare weekly and monthly QC reports, metrics, and other assigned tasks.
- Participate in in‑process audits and drive timely closure of findings.
- Make risk‑based decisions for routine QC activities.
Required profile
- Minimum NITEC or Diploma in a technical discipline (preferred).
- At least 7 years of QC inspection experience in a regulated industry, with a minimum of 2 years in a QC team‑lead role.
- Ability to read and interpret electronic and mechanical drawings.
- Experience operating inspection tools and programming automated test equipment.
- Laboratory experience, including use of pipettes.
- Proficiency in collecting, structuring, analyzing, and presenting data using spreadsheets and dashboards.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- ERP system experience required; SAP desirable.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or ISO 13485; knowledge of ISO 14971 and MDSAP is a plus.
- Effective communication skills for training and leading project teams.
