Quality Engineer - Gas Turbine Manufacturing

About the role

The Production Quality Manufacturing Engineer leads the manufacturing cell on quality assurance and control and owns the cell's quality KPIs. The role reports directly to the site's Quality Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Build-in-Quality champion for the cell (PFMEA, MSA)
• Facilitate Management of Change (MOC) for the cell
• Review non-conformances daily and monitor defect rates to drive short-, medium- and long-term actions
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Drive quality improvement projects to meet SQDC KPIs and reduce defect rates
• Own Cost of Poor Quality issues and resolve customer complaints related to the cell's products
• Ensure adherence to Quality Management System requirements, raise quality awareness, run quality briefs, and exercise Quality Stop Work
• Act as the supply chain internal auditor for compliance and improvement audits

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university
• 3 years of operational, quality and engineering experience in manufacturing preferred
• Gas turbine component manufacturing experience is an added advantage

Required skills

• Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and experience in quality internal audits
• Root cause analysis, especially for complex technical problems
• Lean and Six Sigma practices
• Sustaining a built-in-quality culture in manufacturing
