Quality Intern - Calibration and Metallurgy Laboratory

About the role

GE Aerospace Engine Services Singapore (GEAESS) is looking for a Quality Intern to lead projects for its Calibration and Metallurgy Laboratory and work with the GEAESS Laboratories team. The site has been advancing aerospace innovation across Asia Pacific for over 40 years, and GEAESS is the largest site for engine component maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO).

Key responsibilities

• Lead the initiation and setup of a new Calibration Lab for dimensional and torque calibration at a new engine overhaul facility in Seletar Aerospace Park, managing the project and securing the resources needed to keep it on track.
• Qualify and commission a 3D printing powder element composition analysis machine at the Loyang compressor repair facility.
• Coordinate a Kaizen event at the Metallurgy Lab with a cross-functional team.
• Follow up with stakeholders on machine installation, qualification, creation of standard work and operator training.

Required profile

• Interns must commit to a minimum of 20-24 weeks so they can learn from the projects.
• Basic knowledge of engineering and an eager-to-learn attitude.
• Proactive approach to tasks and project management.

Required skills

• Degree in engineering, university mathematics and physics (preferred)
• Understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings, use of CMM and knowledge of material science (preferred)
