Quality Technician (NDT)

About the role

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defence company, is hiring an onsite Quality Technician in Bedok, Singapore. The role covers non-destructive testing (NDT) and quality inspection of aircraft structures, engines and components.

Key responsibilities

• Apply Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and/or Radiographic Testing (RT), interpret and evaluate results for acceptance or rejection and document them according to procedures.
• Perform temper etch inspections in line with approved specifications and job instruction sheets to check heat-treated parts for overheating, burns or other abnormalities.
• Navigate and interpret job instruction sheets.
• Conduct system performance checks in line with applicable process standards.
• Set up, standardise and operate NDT tooling and equipment, and perform routine calibration and servicing of test media and equipment.

Required profile

• Minimum diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience performing PT, MT, UT and RT in an aerospace environment, with at least 2 years working with aircraft structures, engines and/or components, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Current certification such as NAS410 / EN4179 / ASNT or SNT-TC-1A.
• Basic knowledge of product manufacturing, inspection technology and aircraft engine maintenance.
• Good team player with strong written and verbal communication, able to work under pressure and show continuous improvement and multi-tasking skills.
• Prior NDT experience in the aviation sector is preferred.

• Penetrant testing (PT), magnetic particle testing (MT), ultrasonic testing (UT) and radiographic testing (RT)
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SAP is preferred
