Quantity Surveyor – Construction Cost Management

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor will lead cost control and contractual activities across construction projects, ensuring financial performance aligns with client expectations and project budgets. You will work closely with project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to manage payments, claims, and cost optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Administer progress claims and payments to clients and from suppliers/sub‑contractors.
• Prepare final account settlements, cash‑flow forecasts, and cost analyses.
• Submit variation orders, evaluate price comparison summaries, and develop cost‑reduction strategies.
• Review and prepare contract documents for subcontractors, ensuring agreements are executed.
• Provide advice on contractual claims, EOT claims, and scope management.
• Monitor project costs against objectives and prepare regular cost reports.
• Update supplier/sub‑contractor accounts as directed by the Project Manager.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the construction industry, preferably on LTA projects.
• Ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of market updates and construction cost trends.
• Experience with soil investigation and geotechnical instrumentation projects.
