Regional Corporate Counsel (APAC)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Regional Corporate Counsel to support a global shipping client across the APAC region. The role involves handling complex corporate financing, strategic investments, asset transactions and cross‑border commercial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead legal support for corporate financing, strategic investments, acquisitions, disposals and other high‑value commercial transactions.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements and transaction documents.
• Advise internal stakeholders on corporate governance, financing, procurement, technology, intellectual property, real estate and regulatory matters.
• Support regional business initiatives, including joint ventures, M&A activities and cross‑border projects.
• Identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks, providing practical, business‑oriented advice.
• Manage external counsel where required and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive business growth and strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with 10+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong background in corporate M&A, financing transactions or complex commercial deals, preferably in capital‑intensive or asset‑heavy industries.
• Experience with cross‑border transactions and advising regional stakeholders.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast‑paced, multinational environment.
• Prior in‑house experience in a multinational corporation is advantageous.
