Regional Tax Specialist

About the role

Nomura is seeking an experienced tax professional to join its regional tax team in Singapore. Reporting to the Regional Head of Tax, you will support the Global Markets business across the Asia‑Pacific region, providing tax compliance, advisory and project leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tax advisory on new products and transactions for Wholesale Banking lines (IWM, Equities, IBD, Credit) across APAC.
• Respond to tax enquiries from business units and corporate tax functions.
• Prepare and review income tax, GST/VAT returns and compute tax provisions and deferred tax.
• Monitor Fin‑48 positions and ensure alignment with Nomura’s tax risk appetite.
• Lead tax projects related to new tax rules and policy implementation.
• Collaborate with Finance Control, Product Control, Legal, Compliance and Operations on tax analyses.
• Support transfer pricing calculations, review local TP files and maintain related documentation.

Required profile

• 10+ years of tax experience in an international accounting firm or financial institution.
• Qualified Chartered Accountant, CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a regional/global team.
