Regional Tax Specialist (Vice President)

About the role

Nomura is seeking an experienced tax professional to join its regional tax team in Singapore. Reporting to the Regional Head of Tax, the Vice President will provide tax compliance, advisory and strategic support across the Asia‑Pacific wholesale banking franchise.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tax advisory on new products and transactions for Wholesale Banking (IWM, Equities, IBD, Credit) across APAC.
• Respond to tax enquiries from business units and corporate tax functions.
• Prepare and review income tax, GST/VAT returns and compute tax provisions, deferred tax and Fin‑48 positions.
• Lead tax projects to implement new tax policies and ensure compliance with evolving regulations.
• Support transfer pricing calculations, review local TP files and provide policy guidance.
• Collaborate with Finance Control, Product Control, Legal, Compliance and Operations to produce accurate tax analyses.

Required profile

• 10+ years of tax experience in an international accounting firm or financial institution.
• Qualified Chartered Accountant, CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder‑influence abilities.
• Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities.
